Range Rover mic installation.  Center console method

Installing the microphone wiring is quite simple and only required for the US Range Rovers as they were not prewired for phone .  It requires you to tuck a microphone wire under a few trim pieces and into the center console.  Taking your time running this mic wire should not be more than about 5-10 minutes.

Starting from the back electronics area tuck the mic wire up the left side of vehicle

Start by removing the spare tire cover and removing the luggage tie down with an Allen key.

Tuck the mic wire under the trim panel working your way towards the front of the vehicle.

Tuck the wire fully under the trim panel so that the wire can not be seen

Fold up the back seats to gain accesss to the trim panels Working your way forward tuck the mic wire behind the side bolstering, making sure to thread it behind the seat belt .

Moving forward tuck mic wire under the plastic trim panel leading towards the door sill.

Lift the door sill upwards.  It has two snaps on either side closest to the door

With the trim panel lifted up tuck the mic wire under the carpet and out of the way

With the panel still removed, tuck the mic wire under the trim panel leading towards the drivers seat.

Run this wire forward up to the seam below the drivers seat.

tuck the Microphone wiring into this seam and out of site

push end of mic wire under seat and out of sight

Although difficult to photograph run the mic wire under the seat and out of the way of moving parts and through the seam into the center console.

Place trim panel back into place to fully hide all wiring

Lift up the center console storing compartment and then lift up the cupholder/ashtray
